For public servants without a pension and private-sector employees
You have EPF savings. But is your family protected enough?
Never had takaful, had a certificate lapse, or already covered but unsure if it is enough? Eligible EPF members can consider using part of their permitted savings for yearly takaful contributions.
- Rates cross-checked against PruBSN’s official contribution tables
- Calculation inputs stay in your browser; basic usage events are recorded
- No medical exam, only a health declaration
Which situation sounds familiar?
You've never had takaful. Perhaps it was never the right time, or the options felt confusing. Start by understanding the basics.
Your old certificate has lapsed. An application for a new plan does not automatically reinstate the old certificate. Check the old policy status with its original operator.
You already have cover. Good. Now check whether it is enough, where the gaps are, and whether additional cover is necessary.
Start with what your family needs.
Think about groceries, school expenses and the mortgage. Different protection benefits address different risks. Start with the commitments your family would still have to meet.
Two plans. Different jobs.
These plans address different risks. Lindung Famili TPD and accidental death benefits end at the certificate anniversary at age 70 ANB; death cover is subject to expiry at 75.
PruBSN Lindung Famili
- Death benefit, 100% of the sum covered
- Total & permanent disability (TPD) before ANB 70
- Extra accidental death benefit of 100%/200%/300% depending on circumstances
- Sum covered RM10,000–RM200,000
PruBSN Cegah Famili
- Lump-sum payout for the 43 covered critical illnesses
- Death benefit is included too (reduced if a critical illness claim is paid)
- Sum covered RM10,000–RM200,000
- Not a medical card
Let's do the maths, not guess.
Enter your date of birth and check the yearly amount. Contributions change with age and rates are not guaranteed. Verify the final amount on the official portal.
What happens next?
Check eligibility, read the official product documents, calculate the yearly contribution, and follow the customer registration guide. The Caliph link is an affiliate referral step; the takaful application itself proceeds through EPF i-Akaun and the relevant official channels. Never share your PIN, password or OTP.
Three things to remember
This is your own retirement money, not free cover or a government grant. Using it reduces your remaining savings. Benefits have definitions and exclusions, and yearly renewal depends on contributions being paid within the applicable grace period.

I'm Zunaidi. I've worked in the takaful field since 2014. For this site, I am a Caliph Group affiliate, not an EPF or PruBSN agent. This is an independent information site, not an official EPF or PruBSN website.

About this site
My name is Zunaidi. I am not an agent of EPF or Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad. My role for i-Lindung is as a Caliph Group affiliate. I have experience in the takaful field since 2014.
That earlier experience is separate from my current affiliate role. This is not an official EPF/PruBSN website. Using your savings for contributions reduces your retirement balance. Eligibility, benefits and approval are subject to official terms.
